Gammy and Pappy came back from a visit to Aunt Maggie bearing gifts for Brody (of course). Among them is a new lion that Brody has been having fun with--until he realizes Mommy has a camera, and like a true boy, realizes anything electronic is FAR more interesting.

Brody's new lion

Jack's Big Music Show
Thanks to our friends Kathleen and Zach, Brody has a favorite TV show--"Jack's Big Music Show". He holds onto the ottoman or coffee table while dancing (aka shaking his butt), and more recently has begun to attempt to play along by banging on the pots I gave him.

On the move
Just as I began to think Brody would never crawl, he proved I had nothing to worry about. As soon as we returned from vacation and moved into our new house in MD, and over the course of just 2 weeks, Brody began crawling, pulling himself up, and walking around while holding onto furniture. I incredibly excited that he's done so much so quick, but the obvious drawback is that he is into EVERYTHING, and of course the things that are off-limits are the things that are most enticing--power cords, important papers, electric sockets, anything with a sharp edge, etc. Suddenly I'm running around to baby proof everything. I have a feeling I'm finally going to get that exercise I've been meaning to get around to...
I just realized the most recent pictures of him crawling aren't on this computer, so I'll have to update this later. This is one of Brody's first attempts at crawling on the floor of the Pittsburgh Airport when we landed after our vacation. The guy on the floor is some stranger at the airport that was as (if not more) excited than us to see Brody try to crawl....I would think the worst, but his wife and and two other couples they were traveling with seemed just as excited and were egging him on.
Brody on Vacation
Jim is finally home, and to celebrate, the entire family (Jim's parents, sisters, and ourselves) took a trip to the Dominican Republic for a week. Brody loved the water (as long as it wasn't too cold!), but he wasn't as crazy about the sand that kept finding its way into his eyes and nose...
Silly Brody--that goes in the water!

Cheap Sunglasses
To celebrate Jim's return home, we ("we" being the entire family--Jim's parents, sisters, and us) are going to the beach for a week long family vacation. Pappy Fitzroy has been on my case for a long time now about finding Brody a pair of good "cheap sunglasses", and on my recent shopping trip I found not one, but two great pairs of baby boy shades. We had a couple nice, warm days last week so Brody enjoyed wagon rides and playing outside (while wearing cheap sunglasses, of course!).
Too cute!
ZZ Top would be proud.
Catching up...
I know it's been awhile....ok, a LONG while since I've posted. Part of my time I excuse, but most of it has just been the result of my laziness. Brody is now 7 1/2 months old and about 17 lbs. In December we flew to Korea to visit Jim for Christmas and the New Year. We had a great time! Brody did surprisingly well on the flight--he actually slept a considerable portion of our 20 hours traveling. Our flight back was slightly more difficult because we both were sick (thanks to Jim who had been sick the last week of our visit), but we managed. We now have only a little over a week before Jim comes home!!
